Kindergarten Music:
Kindergarten music is all about exploration. We explore our voices. We explore music through movement. We explore instruments. Music exploration is everywhere in our classroom.
NOVEMBER:
One REALLY fun think we learned this month was how to play the xylophones! This is always a really special time for the kids. So exciting!
Below is a video of Ms. Zoldak's class exploring xylophone sounds (making star sounds) while we sing, "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star."
OCTOBER:
This month we are exploring our "spooky" voices. This actually helps us find our head voice and singing voice! Who knew Halloween songs could help us do that?
Rhythmically, we are hearing and exploring steady beat vs. no beat. In one listening lesson (from Carmina Burana by Carl Orff) we pretend to be beat monsters or ghosts. When the music has a steady beat, our monsters march throughout the music room! When the ghost music comes on, we float through the air without a beat.
